You might remember our January feature on Michigan Friends of Education, which is providing FREE books to families in Michigan -- no restrictions. MFE is part of a larger program that also includes: a school supply program for educators (providing free school and classroom supplies), homeless student services and backpacks for children.
With the heavy rains this week, MFE's central facility flooded, ruining many supplies and requiring extensive cleanup efforts. MFE was already looking at cutting some of the services they offer due to a reduction in funds, so this additional loss is devastating.
Consider making a donation to help with the flood recovery efforts or to support the programs in general. The kids thank you!
