What a joy to watch! Disney Newsies performed at Ferndale High School was an excellent show. The students showed performance was exciting to watch. One would have thought they rehearsed for months instead of a few weeks. Despite canceled rehearsals, snow days, and illness the show prevailed.
The musical Newsies is a fictionalized account of the real-life newsboy's strike of 1899 in New York City. Jack Kelly, a newsboy and leader if a group of newsies, rallies the newsies to strike Pulitzer and William Randolph Hearst. What causes the strike is a raise in distribution prices.
The students gave it their all. If their was an award for heart, determination, and grit they deserve it.
